Dr. Bazhenova's clinical practice concentrates on lung cancer, particularly as this relates to females and non-smokers. She actively participates in cooperative group trials, and takes an active role in designing and implementing clinical investigations at Moores Cancer Center, including phase II studies and correlative science projects with several UCSD investigators. She believes in multidisciplinary approach to lung cancer when radiation and surgery plays an important role in patient management. She leads a weekly lung tumor board, so patients can benefit from input of different sub specialists.
