A Certified Nurse-Midwife since 1997, Ms. Gunther has worked at the UCSD Medical Center full time since 1999. She provides care in the Birth Center and Labor & Delivery. She sees pregnant clients at Comprehensive Health Center. She proudly celebrated her thousandth birth attended in January, 2008.
Prior to coming to UCSD, Ms. Gunther worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
As part of her midwifery education, Ms. Gunther trained at a free-standing birth center in rural Texas where she had the opportunity to learn about unmedicated, out-of-hospital labor and birth.
