Dr. Daniels is a general cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSD. She works with patients on prevention of cardiovascular disease, as well as management of coronary disease, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and other cardiovascular problems. She also lectures to physicians, medical students and the general public on topics including Screening for Cardiovascular Disease, Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, and Women's Cardiovascular Health.
Dr. Daniels believes good communication with her patients is an important part of the physician-patient relationship.
Dr. Daniels' research interests include:
- Screening for cardiovascular disease in the community
- Use of novel cardiovascular biomarkers
- Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension
- Screening athletes for causes of sudden cardiac death
- Cardiovascular epidemiology including womens cardiovascular health
- Clinical trials in heart failure and cardiovascular biomarkers
