Dr. Hesselink is Vice Chair of Clinical and Academic Affairs, and Chief of Neuroradiology in the UCSD Department of Radiology. During his 25 years of experience in neuroradiology, his clinical and research interests have included magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of the brain and spine, central nervous system effects of HIV infection, fat-suppression MR imaging, and MR spectroscopy of brain tumors. Dr. Hesselink is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology & Neuroradiology.
