Dr. Saenz is an Associate Clinical Professor in Reproductive Medicine. A unique aspect of her clinical practice is her ability to perform gynecologic oncology surgery laparoscopically, whenever it is appropriate.
She is particularly interested in the preventative aspects of gynecologic cancer care and is dedicated to educating women at risk for cancer of the cervix, uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes.
Dr. Saenz places a lot of emphasis on the importance of the patient-physician relationship. "I learn a great deal from my patients, as they cope with a very difficult time in their lives."
Dr. Saenz is an active translational researcher in the field of ovarian cancer therapeutics. She is presently investigating the use of protein transduction domains as a novel way to deliver macromolecular agents to treat ovarian cancer.
Dr. Saenz is a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), the largest multi-institutional organization conducting research into the treatment and prevention of gynecologic cancers.
