Dr. Weisman has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. He has a
strong interest and
extensive experience
in plastic and reconstructive
surgery of
the head and neck,
surgery of the orbit
(eye socket and
adjacent structures),
trauma of the head
and neck, and disorders
of the thyroid and parathyroid glands.
Dr. Weisman teaches courses annually on
surgery of the orbit and surgery for cancers
of the nose and sinuses, and has produced
nationally distributed videotapes on surgery of
the salivary gland and reconstruction of the
mandible. He is currently one of the leading
members of the combined ENT-Endocrine Clinic
at UCSD Healthcare, where patients with thyroid
and parathyroid disorders are evaluated
and treated by a multidisciplinary team of
specialists. Dr. Weisman administers and
participates as an investigator in a number of
ongoing clinical trials of new treatments for
head and neck cancer. Dr. Weisman is one of
the only surgeons in San Diego who provides
endoscopic laser treatment for larynx cancer.

Dr. Weisman is a professor of surgery in the Division of Head and Neck Surgery and director of the Head and Neck Oncology Department at UCSD School of Medicine. Prior to his faculty position at UCSD, he was an associate professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and also spent four years in Rancho Mirage, California providing medical care in a private practice setting.
