Bard Cosman, M.D.
Surgery, Colon and Rectal

"I like the combination of dealing with people and learning natural science. Also, there were role models: my father and grandfather were physicians, and my mother taught medical law and history."
Dr. Cosman received the Kaiser Teaching Award, given by the third-year medical students. He has also been nominated for Humanism in Medicine Award.
He is active in the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He has a special interest in chronic inflammatory lesions such as anal fistula, pilonidal sinus, and hidradenitis suppurativa, and in anal dysplasia and cancer, especially in the setting of HIV. He has published several articles and studies.
Dr. Cosman spends his free time with his wife and four sons. He loves bicycling, running, and reading to his children.
