Family medicine offers an opportunity to
blend the scientific basis of medicine and
the humanistic values of service.
Dr. Gutierrez enjoys the challenges of seeing
people of all ages and backgrounds. Her
approach to medicine is to foster shared decision-
making and to promote preventive medicine
and well being for all.
After a few years of practicing in the community,
Dr. Gutierrez joined the UCSD Department of
Family and Preventive Medicine. She has
a busy clinic and dedicates significant time
to teaching residents and students. She has
received many teaching awards.
