Heather M. Patton, M.D.
Gastroenterology

Dr. Patton has clinical expertise in both general Gastroenterology and general Hepatology. Her primary clinical interest is in management of chronic liver diseases including viral hepatitis (hepatitis B and C), fatty liver (NAFLD/NASH), and autoimmune hepatitis. She also manages general GI conditions and performs colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures.
Dr. Patton's research interests are in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. She has received a grant from the American College of Gastroenterology to support a pilot study for treatment of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Dr. Patton has published primary research articles on the finding of fatty liver in chronic hepatitis C and treatment of hepatitis C as well as invited reviews on fatty liver disease. She reviews articles for publication in several gastroenterology and hepatology journals.
