Michael McHale, M.D. at UC San Diego Medical Center

Dr. McHale is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at UCSD. He recently joined the faculty after serving at the Naval Medical Center San Diego from 2000-2007. During that time he was the Assistant Residency Director, Vice-Chairman of the Institutional Review Board, Principle Investigator for the Gynecologic Oncology Group studies, and the Director of the Donald Gallup Research Symposium. He has published multiple peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and review texts such as ACOG’s Gynecologic Oncology Prolog. Dr. McHale received multiple teaching awards including the CREOG National Faculty Award.

His research interests include prevention strategies for pre-invasive disease, the impact of environmental factors on carcinogenesis and clinical trials. He is currently the principle investigator on a multi-institutional, ovarian cancer trial for recurrent disease.
