Dr. Alexander Kuo is the Medical Director of Hepatology at UCSD and currently serves as the Acting Medical Director of the UCSD Liver Transplant Program.
"I strive to deliver high quality, compassionate care to each of my patients with the help of a fantastic multidisciplinary team. My clinical interests include caring for patients with complications of end-stage liver disease, all aspects of pre- and post-liver transplant care, the treatment of hepatitis B and hepatitis C, the multidisciplinary treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, and the management of patients with acute liver failure. My research focuses on improving patient and graft survival after liver transplantation especially in patients with recurrent hepatitis C infection."
