Yuko Kono, M.D.

Dr. Kono is a hepatologist, trained at Kyoto University, Japan. Her training includes not only general hepatology, but also interventional radiology including liver biopsy, abdominal ultrasound, percutaneous alcohol injection (PEI) and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. Clinical interests include liver cancer screening and diagnosis, management of primary HCC, HCV, HBV, autoimmune hepatis, and NASH. She is an expert in contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging.
Dr. Kono’s main research is contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging, particularly in tumor diagnosis and assessment of tumor response to treatment.
