Niren Angle, MD, RVT, FACS
Surgery, Vascular
(Vascular and Endovascular Surgery)

Dr. Angle has extensive experience with the broad spectrum of vascular disease. He is trained in the endovascular and open treatment of aortic aneurysms and has trained under Dr. Wesley Moore, who implanted the first FDA approved endovascular graft in the United States.
His clinical expertise is complemented by a research interest that looks at the most fundamental characteristics of endothelial and smooth muscle cell function, the very mechanisms that govern the behaviour of blood vessels in health and disease.
Dr. Angle firmly believes that competence is the greatest form of compassion when it comes to treating a patient. Clinical and laboratory research shape the ability of the physician to think critically and to approach vexing problems with a new or unconventional perspective. It is this mindset, Dr. Angle believes, that allows a physician to discover new and better methods of treatment rather than be content with the conventional ones. Modern vascular biology has provided insights into the mechanisms governing atherosclerosis and its most fundamental mechanisms that have dramatically changed the way this disease should be attacked. This involves an emphasis on dietary pharmacotherapy, exercise, and supplements that inherently change the metabolic milieu of the individual. Far too little emphasis has been placed on these factors and Dr. Angle has a passionate interest in incorporating these into the care of the patient. Dr. Angle feels that working in an academic university environment provides a stimulating environment that allows for the examination of new and old problems with a ever changing perspective.
