Brett C Meyer, M.D.

Dr. Meyer is currently the co-director of the UCSD Stroke Center specializing in acute cerebrovascular disease therapies, evaluation and treatment techniques at UCSD Medical Center. He has also been appointed director of the newly established UCSD Stroke Unit.
His clinical research encompasses clinical stroke scale evaluations, acute and hyper-acute therapies for stroke and cerebral hemorrhage, and Internet applications of telemedicine technology for the evaluation and treatment of stroke patients. He has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Stroke. In the arena of clinical deficit stroke scale evaluations he has presented at numerous major academic meetings, and has contributed to textbook chapters and educational CD-ROMs for Neurologic reference books. Dr. Meyer is a national speaker on varied topics related to clinical cerebrovascular disease including acute stroke management and clinical research. Dr. Meyer has special interest in the area of clinical neurology training and has won extensive awards for his expertise in clinical teaching. He has the distinction of Junior Faculty Neuroscience Teacher of the Year for 2001-2002 and 2002-2003.
