Dr. Docherty specializes in the management of patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He trained in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Since returning he has worked to develop a new Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at UCSD to manage these complicated diseases. He has a number of active clinical trials ongoing.
