Dr. Millard is active in the practice of general oncology (cancer) in adults. He is currently working primarily with the urology department in the development of a multidisciplinary program in urological malignancies, including cancer of the bladder, testis, kidney and especially prostate. He is trained in hematology (blood diseases) and maintains an active practice in this area as well.

Dr. Millard is an associate clinical professor in the UCSD Department of Medicine. He is also the medical director of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office and is involved in managing UCSD Cancer Center clinical trials. While working for the U.S. Navy, Dr. Millard was the Navy Surgeon General's Specialty Leader for Hematology/Oncology.
